Business operates in a constant state of technological evolution which consistently and intrinsically seeks advancement to render normally rudimentary tasks more seamless and more efficient. Our society is rapidly pacing towards a paperless reality. As more of the population embraces the digital revolution, cumbersome paper documents are beginning the journey towards extinction. Communication advancements have been driving business forward for many decades, even centuries. Business communication is a core component, specifically the transfer of information. Over the past century, communication has advanced exponentially, beginning with handwritten letters to telegraphs to telephones to telefax machines to emails to video telecoms such as Skype, Zoom and Teams. As a society and, specifically, in business environments, the evolving ease of communication has exponentially grown to a level of the immediate dissemination of information and data, which has resulted in expediting business in so many facets.
However, the traditional “Business Card” has remained static since their creation and integration into the business world. The Business card has been the standard symbol of contact data for any and every business person, whether they are a member of a small or large company or a sole-proprietor. Many people take pride in their business card and feel a sense of worth by providing another person with their contact information and identifying themselves with their company or business. Some people simply utilize their business cards as a method of sharing their company and personal information with another person as well. The undeniable underlying purpose of the Business Card is to provide another with their information. This is why business cards were created and used by nearly every business in their daily interactions.
There was an era where recipients of business cards would file all the cards they received from others in a Rolodex, which could easily be accessed when desired. Upon the invention of computers, many business card recipients would either scan or manually enter the cards into a business card program so that they could access the information easily. In today’s environment, many utilize their cell phones for the same purpose. They either scan or manually enter the information into either their contact list or an APP which organizes the data accordingly. This has, essentially, been the evolution of the process upon which business card recipients engage to organize their network of business and personal associates. Many still collect business cards and place them in a drawer somewhere in their home or office and, when they desire to contact someone from whom they received a card, they fumble through all the cards to find the desired one.
ECCO has developed a more seamless and organized method of transferring the business card data onto their cell phones or computers while maintaining the pride of a “Business Card”. With ECCO’s new software platform, every business person will still own a business card, however, instead of constantly buying and carrying multiple cards to disseminate, the ECCO app allows for users to design digital business cards. To bridge the gap between the physical and virtual worlds, ECCO has developed a physical card used to transfer these user-designed digital cards. There is only the necessity for One (1) physical card. This one (1) card uses NFC technology to transfer the digital information as seamlessly as possible by simply tapping the card onto the mobile phone of the recipient or by alternative methods such as sending a link to the recipient. Once received by the recipient, the information will automatically be downloaded onto the ECCO APP on the mobile phone as well as offer the ability to download the sender’s contact onto the contact list within the phone. The recipient can then simply go into their ECCO APP when needed to access the information or go directly to their contact list. If the recipient does not have the ECCO app installed on their device, the information can still be consumed via our web application.
ECCO has created the most organized method of transferring and receiving business card information and alleviated the problems associated with the constant ordering, carrying, receiving and organizing of information on a business card.
ECCO believes that their proprietary platform will disrupt the market in a manner consistent with the evolution of digital organization of contact information.
